The ability to find and use information is the keystone of life-long learning. For students to be prepared in today’s information-filled world, they must develop skills and expertise in accessing, evaluating and using information in a variety of formats for the purpose of formulating questions based upon information needs and generating new information to create necessary solutions.
The mission of MGA’s Library Media Center is to provide information learning opportunities for developing skills and proficiencies through resources and collaboration.
The Library Media Center’s print collection includes daily newspapers, magazines, a traditional book collection of fiction, non-fiction and reference. An electronic collection, available via the wireless campus and from any internet-connected computer, includes educational websites through catalog searches, a collection of reference eBooks and subscription databases. The multimedia collection for instructional purposes includes videos, DVDs and audio books.
Within the Library Media Center, there are computers available for student use, study carrels for individual work, large tables for small group work and designated spaces for recreational reading. Whether you physically visit our Library Media Center facility or visit virtually through our MGA Online Media Center, you will find a wealth of resources for both academics and leisure.
Staffed by a certified School Librarian, MGA’s Library Media Center is open Monday-Friday from 7:30-3:00 PM.
